Suiker Unie Dinteloord recently built a large new sugar beet reception facility to be able to unload the produce from trucks faster.

The sugar beet is stored in a large warehouse and is later transported by large conveyor belt to the factory for processing.
Since there are still some metal particles in the delivered sugar beet and this can create havoc with the processing machinery, K.W. Supply Magnet Systems was brought in to come up with a solution.

This resulted in the manufacture and installation of a magnetic separator (measuring 2000 mm x 1200) mm that extracts the metal particles from the sugar beet as it passes by the magnet on the conveyor belt.

The magnet hangs on a girder track and can be maneuvered from side to side to dump the gathered metal particles in a container during work shifts. The girder track installation was also designed and installed by
